Stephanie Griffin Instructor, Choreographer
In 2001, Stephanie Griffin found a way to keep warm in Alaska: on the dance floor
learning social Latin dances. After a year, she began assisting teaching those
dances, along with colleague Katya Kuznetsova, forming Ritmovida Dance
Partnership. As an instructor, Stephanie has taught at numerous local schools
and organizations, as well as performing, for the past eight years. She has eight
years of dance training at the University of Alaska Anchorage, ranging from jazz to
modern, and has trained with international artists, such as Marianela Boan
(DanzAbierta, Havana Cuba), Jump Rhythm Jazz Project (Chicago), and Augusto
Soledad (Brazz Dance Theatre, Miami). Stephanie is also a member of Momentum
Dance Collective, a local adult contemporary dance company, since 2008.
Kagan Ford of Rumboso Ballroom has been around and influenced by many dance forms
all his life. In 2005 he began to teach, choreograph and perform. Initially representing Fred
Astaire Dance Studios South, and then as a independent instructor. Kagan has won
numerous competitive awards. Dance is his one true passion in life and he has been
delighted to share that passion by instructing in the Anchorage area.
He has collaborated with many companies including Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy,
Alaska Dance Theater, Underground Dance Company, Alaska Dance Promotions,
Swing-set Hooligans and Ritmovida.
